8-Year-Old Bradenton Girl Killed in Car Crash
The accident occurred when another vehicle veered out of control and head-on into the vehicle she was riding in, according to state police.
An 8-year-old Bradenton girl was killed and four other people suffered serious injuries in a crash Sunday afternoon on State Road 70 at Curtis Road.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the two-vehicle accident occurred when a 2008 Chrysler Aspen traveling east on State Road 70 veered out of control and into the westbound lane, slamming head-on into a 1999 Chevy Cavalier.
Sierra Proulx, 8, of Bradenton, a passenger in the Cavalier, was killed in the crash.

Kevin Moore, the 43-year-old Cavalier driver, and Melanie Proulx, a 42-year-old passenger, were taken to Blake Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
The driver of the Aspen – 31-year-old Devin Gilmore of Arcadia – also suffered serious injuries, along with 29-year-old Allison Gilmore, a passenger in his vehicle.

Devin Gilmore has been charged with failure to use due care. The state police said that alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
