Was Ray Pilon's Heat Joke Appropriate? (Video)

After Florida Rep. Ray Pilon calls for a medic for a woman in distress, says that it's hot because crowd is fired up for Romney.

Was what Rep. Ray Pilon said Thursday afternoon at the Gov. Mitt Romney rally an unfortunate segue or not a big deal? Your call.

The heat and humidity plus body heat caused the rally at the Ringling Museum to be uncomfortable for some, as several people were treated for heat-related illnesses or falls throughout the day.

During Pilon's speech, he alertly heard the crowd call for a medic, and used his mic to call over the attention of medical personnel to the front row as a woman was having heat-related issues.

Pilon attempted to segue from making sure a woman is receiving medical attention to saying that it's so hot out because the crowd is "fired up" for Mitt Romney.

"We need a medic in the front row," Pilon said. "And it is hot out here, folks. You know why it's really hot? Cause you're fired up. This campaign's fired up, and we're going to stay fired up."

Pilon, who represents District 69, will run for District 72 this year due to redistricting. Whether this will be used by his opponet Democrat Liz Alpert or as a blip in a race remains unseen.

Or at least, this just could be your Daily Show Moment of Zen.

What do you think? Is this an unfortuante segue, just another sound clip for talking heads to debate or a Daily Show Moment of Zen?

Seriously? This is what you report from the campaign stop? Did Mr Pilon call for aid for a victim of possible heat exhaustion? The attempt to segue into something else is yours, wondering if this can be used by his opponent in some way. Oh, I get it. This is your "tease". Sometimes a silly comment or opinion to garner up a response. Well it worked. I sure hope this does not sway a reasonable, intelligent voter to second guess Mr. Pilon.

You have a Presidential Candidate & 5,000 local residents show up and THIS is the story. Pilon's focus and priority was the alert the medics. If you want to use a one liner to create a story, why not have an entire post on "I personally believe in redistribution" now THAT's a story! As for Pilon's opponent using this, that's just funny. The 'Progressive and go-a-long 'Liberals', are they "Ignorant, or just stupid"? Do they really beleve that Obama's unconstitutional and literal 'Thug Policies'... will this not hurt them also???...to those of this mindset, "HERE'S YOUR SIGN"

It is way past time to make a WAR on the liberal, biased press. This is so far out there that it is in the "I can't believe the press as sunk this low" category. I think it's time to hit the biased, slanted press where it hurts and boycott any advertiser that works with these "journalists". When we demand real truthful, unbiased, RELEVANT reporting by doing that, it might happen. If you threaten their source of income you might force them to tell what really is happening no matter how they personally think.
