'Tailgating for a Cause' in Bradenton Raises Money With Mouthwatering Dishes

Just for Girls hosted their 6th Annual “Best Tailgate Party” Charity Event onOctober 19th, 2013 at the elegant estate of Michael & Ethelene Moore Guccione.

 

Chairperson Christa Southgate and her committee worked hard bringing together friends and supporters to build awareness of the Just for Girls mission to help any girl achieve her full potential, as well as raise funds for important development, educational and prevention programs.

Guests were engaged watching college football on a large outdoor screen while enjoying mouthwatering dishes from local tailgate teams. The teams were serving foods inspired from different cultures such as pressed Cubans, chicken curry with rice and beans, grilled bruschetta, pulled pork and beans, Caribbean chili, slaw dogs, sandwich wraps and potato salad. Guests could end their meal with sweet treats made by Eileen Hoffner and paired with coffee provided by Starbuck’s.

Tailgate Teams were provided by; Mixon’s Fruit Farms, 1st Street Café, Jamaica Breeze, Tropical Cadillac, Kinship Services, Inc., Ethelene Moore, Patty Petruff and Joella McGaw.

  

Special guest judges, Tim Stephenson, AVP, Trust Administrative Officer at U.S. Trust and his wife Beth Stephenson awarded Patty Petruff’s and Joella McGaw’s grilled bruschetta for Judge’s Choice Best Tailgate Award. The People’s Choice award went to hard-working community volunteer bartenders Gilles Canesse and Bevie Eaton.

 

Pat Roberts, owner of Gulf Auto Clinic was the shining star of the night winning the stunning white gold and turquoise necklace donated by Jess Jewelers, as well as winning the 50/50 drawing, but, promptly donated the winnings back to Just for Girls.
