THE GLORIA MUSICAE SINGERS PRESENT "FEAST OF CAROLS" ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 2nd

The Gloria Musicae Singers, Sarasota’s professional chorus, celebrates its 35th Anniversary of presenting concerts to enthusiastic audiences in Sarasota.  

The season begins on Monday, December 2 at 7 pm, with “A Feast of Carols,” to be held at the First United Methodist Church, Sarasota.  The concert will feature carols from around the world, with guest artists Ann Hobson Pilot, harp; Ann Stephenson-Moe, organ; Rex Willis, guitar and the State College of Florida Chamber Choir under the direction of Melodie Dickerson.  Selections will include the Cantata Gloria in excelsis Deo, by J.S. Bach; Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten and Carols and Lullabies: Christmas in the Southwest (presented in native Spanish dialects) by Conrad Susa.  In addition, American composer and Siesta Key resident, James Grant, has written a new piece for the chorus to perform which will feature Maria Wirries as soloist.

General admission tickets for the December 2 performance are $35.  Tickets for the concert are available via the Gloria Musicae website, www.GloriaMusicae.org and through the box office of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall (in person or by phone) at 941-953-3368.
