SCF Teacher Prep Info Sessions-Bradenton

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host information sessions about its Alternative Certification Program (ACP). The program is for people who have at least a bachelor's degree with a noneducation major, or teachers with temporary certificates who need professional course work.

Hour-long sessions are scheduled at 6:30 p.m. at the following dates and locations:

• Thursday, March 7, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, building 9, room 102, and Wednesday, April 3, at SCF Bradenton, building 9, room 104;

After finishing all courses in the program and passing required state and college exams, participants will receive certificates of completion that make them eligible for the Florida Department of Education's professional teaching certificate. Evening and weekend scheduling of classes allows working professionals to participate. The cost for the program is approximately $2,000.
