SCF Studio Productions Presents "The Diary of Anne Frank"

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Studio 84 Productions will present “The Diary of Anne Frank” at 8 p.m., Friday - Saturday, Feb. 15-16, Monday, Feb. 18, and Thursday – Saturday, Feb. 21-23, in the David S. & Anne V. Howard Studio Theatre at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, building 11 West. A matinee performance is scheduled at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 24.


"The Diary of Anne Frank” is a drama by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman. To escape the horrors of Nazi persecution, Otto Frank hides with his wife and two daughters in attic rooms above an Amsterdam warehouse for two years. Also hiding are four others including the Van Daans, their son Peter, and a dentist, Mr. Dussel. In her diary, Anne recorded an account of the trials and tribulations of the people around her who are trying to live a normal life in a cramped attic while under the constant threat of discovery by the Gestapo.


Cast members include SCF students Hannah Epstein as Anne Frank; Sean Darcy as Otto Frank; Alexandra Cowan as Edith Frank; Katherine Lucia Hernandez as Margot Frank; Darian Cantor as Miep Gies; Casey Alexander Rich as Peter Van Daan; Madeline Heath as Mrs. Van Daan; Adam Condor as Mr. Van Daan; Conrad Lazo as Mr. Kraler; and John Green as Mr. Dussel. The director is Kenneth Erickson Jr.
