4th Annual Food and Wine on Pine

The 4th Annual Food and Wine on Pine culinary and cultural event will be held Saturday, May 3, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Pine Avenue – from Gulf Drive to the historic Roser Church, in the City of Anna Maria, presenting the best food, wine, art and music the area has to offer.

Entry fee into the 4th Annual Food and Wine on Pine is $2, and children under 12 are free. Food and beverage tickets are $2 each, and most food items are priced between two and eight tickets. Proceeds from the event benefit youth programming at local non-profit organizations: Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus and Orchestra, Anna Maria Island Community Center, Cultural Connections, the Artists Guild of Anna Maria, the Rotary Club of Anna Maria Island, the Historical Society of Anna Maria and the Anna Maria Island Preservation Trust.

The culinary portion of the event features 25 of the area’s locally-owned and
independent restaurants who will showcase fresh, local and seasonal Florida
foods. In addition, culinary students from Southeast High School and Manatee
Technical Institute will also serve their creations. More than 30 wines and a
variety of craft beers will be available to compliment the food tastings.

More than 40 local artists will also be on hand, showing their work in a variety of mediums, including watercolor, metalwork, glass, ceramics, fabrics and
jewelry. A juried art show and Plein Art element will be held ( the artists are
juried in but there is no art contest), as well as chalk art demonstrations and
a student art exhibit.

Food and Wine on Pine is a family-friendly event, and will feature a children’s art and activity area that encourages kids to tap into their inner-artists by
creating an art project, or painting the Tom Sawyer fence. In addition to street
performers and more than 30 musical acts, actors dressed in period costumes will be on hand to tell tales of Anna Maria’s storied past.

New this year is a Kentucky Derby tent, dubbed “Pine Avenue Downs,” which will televise the Derby races and offer chance “betting” with prizes and themed Derby activities, including Derby drinks, a hat contest sponsored by Relish Café and Market Place and more. The Kentucky Derby tent is hosted by the Rotary Club of Anna Maria Island and Bright House Networks.

4th Annual Food and Wine on Pine is expected to draw upwards of 10,000 people interested in experiencing the upscale culinary and cultural event. Event
parking at the Anna Maria Island Community Center and at Crosspointe Fellowship church is free, with free trolley rides to Pine Avenue.
