John Neal Homes is contributing $5000 to the Humane Society of Manatee County (HSMC) for two upcoming events.

Southwest FloridaJohn Neal Homes is contributing $5000 to the Humane Society of Manatee County (HSMC) for two upcoming events. The donation will help sponsor the 7th annual “Paws in Motion Walk-A-Thon” on March 9, 2013 and the 2nd annual “There’s No Place Like Home” party on March 22, 2013.

“It is our pleasure to help support such a worthy organization,” said John Neal, president of the Lakewood Ranch based custom home building company. “We wholeheartedly support the important and dedicated work the HSMC does for the animals in our county and we encourage everyone to get involved and learn about the great things they are doing by attending these events,” he noted.

The 2013 Paws in Motion Walk-a-thon will take place at the new Bradenton Riverwalk. Walkers and dogs are invited to take part in a one-mile walk and enjoy food trucks, vendors, and the Doggie Fun Zone.  The second event is a party at Mixon’s on the Grove and will feature a silent and live auction, dinner by Polo Grill, an open bar, and dancing.

“The Humane Society of Manatee County is so grateful to have John Neal Homes as a major sponsor of our two upcoming events,” said HSMC executive director Amy Van Dell.  “Our organization is not supported by tax dollars or national animal welfare groups such as the Humane Society of the United States, so sponsorship and corporate support such as this are essential to providing the life-saving services that HSMC offers. We applaud John Neal Homes’ community leadership and commitment to supporting animals and the people that love them in Manatee County,” she noted.

More information about either event is available at humanemanatee.org.  The fundraisers support operations of HSMC’s shelter and adoption center, low-cost spay/neuter clinic, the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless animals, a feral cat TNR (trap-neuter-return) program, and pet food bank--all programs that are essential in creating no-kill community in Manatee County.

In addition to the sponsorship, John Neal Homes is also joining forces with Neal Communities to enter a walking team, The Mutt Maniacs, into the Walk-A-Thon event.
