Hidden Harbor Marina Launches Dry Storage and Boater’s Facility in Sarasota

Local entrepreneur revitalizes ramshackle marina property on U.S. 41

Hidden Harbor Marina lives again! Through the efforts of entrepreneur Rodney Dessberg of Thoroughbred Motors, Inc., a once ramshackle marina on Tamiami Trail has been transformed into the all-new, state-of-the art 45,000sf Hidden Harbor Marina. The new marina offers a boater’s paradise for Sarasota’s seagoing community.

At the heart of the new facility is a dry storage area for boats of up to 40’ that is fully enclosed and has a hurricane wind load rating of 130 mph. Dry storage offers boat owners maximum protection from the elements and provides an added sense of security. Many Sarasota boat owners prefer to store their boats in these types of facilities.

“Area dry storage centers are currently at 100% occupancy,” explained John McClain, Thoroughbred Management Group’s General Manager. “Many facilities have waiting lists for boaters to store their boats. Hidden Harbor Marina’s convenient location provides boaters with a great alternative for dry storage in Little Sarasota Bay.”

In addition to boat storage, Hidden Harbor Marina offers full concierge service for boaters, as well as fuel and boat wash stations for the do-it-yourselfers. The facility also includes a sundry shop and full showers for boaters after a long day on the water.

Also located on-property at Hidden Harbor Marina, the Viage Group provides boat sales and service, featuring brands such as Beneteau, Chris Craft and Scout Boats. The marina’s on-site service department offers certified technicians for motor repair, along with minor fiberglass repair and electronic installation.

Joining the marina facility in the near future will be the Saltwater Café, serving lunch and dinner with a full bar, and the Freedom Boat Club, a membership club that provides an alternative to ownership, located at a variety of locations throughout the U.S.

Hidden Harbor Marina will be hosting open house events on Fridays in March (3/14, 3/21 and 3/28), from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Guests can enjoy marina tours, as well as light appetizers provided by the Saltwater Café.

Hidden Harbor Marina is located at 7700 South Tamiami Trail (US 41) in Sarasota. The facility is open 7 days a week, 7:00am-6:00pm. For more information, including slip rates, call Hidden Harbor’s General Manager Spencer Dunford at (941) 927-4800 or visit hhmarina.net.
