Anuva Manufacturing Earns Tax Incentive to Help Spur "Made in America" Jobs

Anuva Manufacturing is proud to announce that the Brevard County Commission voted 4 out of 5 in favor of a property-tax incentive proposal that would pay $6,000 annually over six years. Under the $1.7 million capital investment plan, Anuva anticipates tripling the number of employees and adding 30 new Florida-based jobs within the next two to three years.

“Our primary goal is to put the savings into new jobs,” says Anuva CEO Vinu Patel. “We want to bring jobs back in from overseas and to create more here in Brevard County!”

While some companies continue to slash domestic jobs in order to offshore production, Mr. Patel, an immigrant from India, is part of a profound shift in thinking among major manufacturers to “reshore” jobs and recruit domestically to help improve the U.S. economy. According to a recent Boston Consulting Group survey of 216 manufacturing executives with more than $1 billion in annual sales, 38 percent of U.S.-based respondents were shifting production to the U.S. or considering it (up from 18 percent in a similar survey conducted in February 2012). The reason: Lower energy prices and declining labor costs make America a cheaper location than China to manufacture goods.

Anuva Manufacturing’s expansion plans also include moving a portion of the operations on Technology Drive in West Melbourne to a bigger complex about a quarter-mile away. The move is part of the electronic manufacturing contractor’s “Design to Distribution” approach to improve clients’ time to market with quick-turn manufacturing and engineering-based solutions.

“Our job is to help our customers make the product a little bit cheaper than they had planned, better than they had expected, and on time,” says Mr. Patel.
