If it's February, that means travel pieces on Bradenton to get Pittsburgh Pirates fan ready for Spring Training.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review published a piece Saturday telling folks that "Baseball isn't the only game in town in Bradenton, Fla."
But if you are here for baseball, Spring Training starts Tuesday when pitchers and catchers report to Pirate City and the full team shows up Friday to work out. The first home game is against the Atlanta Braves on Feb. 24.

Pirates manager Clint Hurdle quickly rattled off a few suggestions for out-of-towners to do in Bradenton and Anna Maria Island:
- Mixon's Fruit Farms
- Beach Bistro on Holmes Beach
- Sunset at Sandbar on Beach House
- Drive on Gulf Drive from Anna Maria to St. Armands
Pirates announcer Greg Brown said visitors should go to:
- Duffy's Tavern on Holmes Beach
- City Pier
- Rod and Reel Pier Restaurant on Anna Maria
The Pittsburgh Tribune writer also highlights:
