Bounce U Closing Sarasota Party Center

Owner Meredith Armstrong sent out an email to customers thanking them for their business.

After five years, a birthday party center for kids in north Sarasota is closings its doors.

Bounce U owner Meredith Armstrong emailed customers Wednesday announcing that she and her husband Scott Armstrong will close Feb. 25. Simply, the facility was too big and costly to run for the demographics it served, according to Armstrong's message.

Here is her email:

My name is Meredith Armstrong, and for the last five years my husband Scott and I have had the pleasure of owning and operating BounceU of Sarasota.

We are parents of four amazing children, and we truly have enjoyed being a part of your children's lives, and this community. BounceU has truly given us the chance to meet amazing people.

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce we will be closing our doors for good on Monday February 25th, 2013. We have had a great run, and I myself truly believed this business was exactly what the Sarasota/ Bradenton area needed and deserved.

The young adults I have employed have become family, and they have amazed me with their ability to make each child that walks through these doors feel like they were truly the super star of the day.

This decision was not an easy one, and to be honest many of you probably find this to be surprising. Often I am told that this business must be a gold mine, and that we always seem so busy.

Truthfully renting a facility of this size and maintaining the day to day expenses is much higher than many realize. Frankly the community does not at this time have the demographic to support us. We struggled with how to handle this delicate situation. Many stores that have had to close simply do so with no notice, but we thought in order to be fair to our loyal clients we should give you this chance to enjoy our facility.

We will always treasure our time with you, and we urge you to come play all the rest of this month and all of February.

If you have a Birthday party in the next two months please book it. We really want to make these last few weeks count, and I know myself and my entire staff truly will rely on your smiling faces to get us through this trying time.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the memories.

Thank you for your sensitivity and understanding during this trying time. I am truly heart broken to say goodbye, but unfortunately this good thing must come to an end.

I will finish this by simply stating we will remain in this area we have come to love, and we will focus on our amazing family. With that said instead of saying goodbye we will say "See you around"

Thank you,

The Armstrong Family, and the entire BounceU of Sarasota staff
