Ringling Museum Exhibit Features Rare Herb Ritts Photography

Herb Ritts' famous photographs of celebrities are now on display at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.

Herb Ritts passed away in 2002 from AIDS after working in photography for three decades. In addition to still photography, Ritts also did work for Chris Issak's "Wicked Games" and Madonna's "Cherish" music videos. The exhibit opened Friday.

The exhibition has been organized by the J. Paul Getty Museum and features many famous photographs that graced magazine and album covers. Almost a quarter of the photos though, have been printed only once and a small amount have never been published, according to exhibition curator Paul Martineau.

The Ringling Museum of Art is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission costs range from $5 to $25. For more information, check out the Ringling Museum's website.
