Doug Stivers started out as a military man, which later lead him to being a NYC police officer. Soon he would find out being a business owner would be his true calling. Doug started in the great state of Kentucky with a small gas and grocery store, which he operated for 4 years. Then in 1973, Doug made a profound move to beautiful Bradenton, Florida.
Doug joined up with his brother who had opened The Chop Shop in 1971 and started on a path that would stay with him for the rest of his life.

Doug is the kind of person who always greets you with a smile and truly enjoys customer service. Doug says “the best part of being in the grocery business is dealing with the people you meet”. He adds the thing that kept him in business all these years is quality product and customer service.
Doug takes great pride in the local business model and it shows. The Chop Shop has many long time Bradenton based employees as well as a loyal customer base.

The Chop Shop has now been a Bradenton stable for 42 years. To show their appreciation, they are having their 42nd anniversary sale starting October 9th until the 22nd.
There will be multiple wine tastings, new product samples from deli to spices and fine imported olive oils straight from Italy.
During these two weeks, many prices will be reduced and discounted with sales from meats to groceries. You can also get a free Boar’s Head mustard with a Boar’s Head deli purchase.
