Girl Scout Cookie Sales Extended

Have you bought a box of cookies yet? Here's where to find them in Bradenton.

Correction: This version corrects the date of the Girl Scout sale and the Girl Scout council affiliation.

You can still get your Girl Scout cookies in Bradenton through Sunday, March 24.

The Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida are letting folks know that they have through Sunday to buy Samoas, Savannah Smiles, Thin Mints and other yummy cookies.

The 2013 Girl Scout Cookie Program booth sales end Sunday, March 24, which means that this is the last chance for the public to buy cookies until 2014.

Visit www.gswcf.org/findcookies and search for a Girl Scout Cookie Booth by ZIP code using the cookie booth locator system, or use the free mobile app by dialing **GSCOOKIES on a smart phone.

The sale has been extended to help break last year's sales of 37,500 boxes to support the Mints for Military project. Right now they are at 26,000 boxes. Girl Scouts will ask folks to buy an extra box to support the troops, and these designated cookies will be shipped directly from the cookie company to a military base.

“There truly is more to Girl Scout Cookies than what is in the Box,” said Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida Chief Executive Officer Sue Stewart.  “Everyone knows how tasty Girl Scout Cookies are, but many customers don’t realize that they’re also helping girls build money management and people skills.  The Girl who sells you thin mints today may be running a business and improving your community within a matter of years.”

Customers can purchase their familiar choices of Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-Si-Dos, Trefoils, Dulce de Leche, Savannah Smiles and Thank You Berry Munch for $3.50 a box.
