After a long parking lot campout, 100 Chick-fil-A fans received a year's worth of free food Thursday morning at the grand opening of Bradenton’s newest stand-alone Chick-fil-A location in Cortez Plaza at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Orlando Avenue.

The promotion prompted campers from all walks of life to post up in the parking lot, some traveling as far as Indiana and Georgia, according to Chandra Brown, a spokesperson for Chick fil-A.

They kept themselves busy with a variety of entertainment ranging from music to team contests, Brown said.
