West Manatee Promotes Fire Officers

West Manatee Fire & Rescue District has promoted Captain Chris Kiernan to Battalion Chief; Lieutenant Ryan Moore to Captain and Firefighter John Stump to Lieutenant. The badge pinning ceremony and the swearing-in of the new officers took place at the November Fire Commission meeting.

Battalion Chief Kiernan has been with the District since 1991 and holds an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science Technology.  He is a certified Firefighter, EMT, Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor II, and Fire Safety Inspector I.  Battalion Chief Kiernan has been assigned to B-Shift and serves as the Facility Maintenance Officer

Captain Moore has been with the District since 1999 and holds an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science Technology.  He is a certified Firefighter, EMT, Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor I and Fire Safety Inspector I. Captain Moore has been assigned to C-Shift and is responsible for the Marine Unit.

Lieutenant Stump has been with the District 18 years and served five years as a Firefighter/Paramedic with Hardee County Fire Rescue.  Lt. Stump holds an Associate’s Degree in Fire Service Technology.  He is a certified Firefighter, Paramedic, Fire Officer I, and Fire Safety Inspector.  Lt. Stump is assigned to B-Shift and is responsible for the District’s medical equipment and supplies.
