Internationally recognized as a record-setting acrobat, aerialist and high wire artist, Wallenda first gained worldwide attention for his June 5, 2012 tightrope walk spanning Niagara Falls. On June 23, 2013, the self-described “King of the Wire” built upon his impressive resume of amazing feats as the first person to make a high-wire walk across a Grand Canyon area gorge high above the Colorado River. This internationally televised performance captured an audience of over 13 million viewers to become the highest-rated program in Discovery Channel’s history.

It was his traverse across Grand Canyon that Wallenda realized the challenges of dry contact lenses impeding his vision. This revelation led him to seek a long-term solution through All-Laser LASIK with Dr. Lahners at Center For Sight, one the nation’s most-respected and accomplished surgeons. “Clear eyesight plays a very important role in Nik’s line of work,” said Dr. Lahners. “Our All-Laser LASIK procedure will prove to be a life-changing difference, where he will no longer have the inconvenience of glasses or contacts to disrupt his performances.”

Nik’s confidence in the high level of experience and care at Center For Sight is shared by his mother, Delilah, who is consulting with Center For Sight surgeons for vision-correcting procedures of her own. “We are honored to be both Nik and Delilah’s number-one choice for vision care,” said Dr. David Shoemaker, Founder and Director of Cataract and Lens Replacement Surgery. “It is our great pleasure to provide them with the added convenience of receiving the absolute best quality of services and care possible right in their own hometown of Sarasota.”
