Discount Dogs: Looking for a furry new friend? If so, you might want to check out the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. The nonprofit organization is playing host to a month-long adoption special. Throughout October, it only costs $31 to adopt a dog. For more details, check out the Humane Society online.

Get Your Rays Tickets: Want to cheer on the Rays in Game 3 of the American League Division Series at Tropicana Field? If so, single-game tickets go on sale today, Oct. 4. Sales start at 1 p.m., according to the Rays’ website.

Have You Signed up for Health Care Yet?: While the new insurance exchanges officially opened Oct. 1, potential customers countrywide have been reporting delays and problems with the online system. Have you been able to get in? Were the premiums fair? Tell us by commenting below.

Does NSA Spying Go Too Far?: The National Security Agency’s actions in the war on terrorism are increasingly coming under fire. Even with a government shutdown under way, the Senate Judiciary Committee has been probing the agency to find out if it’s been abusing powers by spying not only on suspected terrorists, but also Americans. The most recent admission from the agency involves cellphone tracking. It seems the agency admits to testing whether it could track Americans’ cellphone locations, according to the Huffington Post.  Do you think the NSA has gone too far?

Wet Weather Possible: It looks like the break from wet weather might be coming to an end. The National Weather Service says we have about a 30 percent chance of storms today, Oct. 4, in both the daytime and evening hours. Storms are expected to be scattered throughout the Bay area. On the upside, the high shouldn’t break that 90-degree mark.
