DESCRIPTION:State College of Florida\, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host i
 nformation sessions about its Alternative Certification Program (ACP). T
 he program is for people who have at least a bachelor's degree with a no
 neducation major\, or teachers with temporary certificates who need prof
 essional course work.\nHour-long sessions are scheduled at 6:30 p.m. at 
 the following dates and locations:\n\nThursday\, March 7\, at SCF Braden
 ton\, 5840 26th St. West\, building 9\, room 102\, and Wednesday\, April
  3\, at SCF Bradenton\, building 9\, room 104\; \n\nAfter finishing all 
 courses in the program and passing required state and college exams\, pa
 rticipants will receive certificates of completion that make them eligib
 le for the Florida Department of Education's professional teaching certi
 ficate. Evening and weekend scheduling of classes allows working profess
 ionals to participate. The cost for the program is approximately $2\,000
