After 4 months of transformation, this old bungalow is now the home of Arts & Eats Restaurant and Gallery.
We opened Sept. 20 for a 21-person reservation for lunch. What a way to open! The group was from Networking for Non-Profits. They enjoyed the Waldorf Salad we served with iced tea and homemade cookies for dessert. The group commented on the efficient service, delicious food and beautiful ambiance.
That evening we hosted another 10 dinners. On Friday and Saturday the restaurant was full for dinner. Chef Jim was creating his amazing delectable edibles including the Indian Curry Crepe, BLT Burger, Thai Shrimp, freshly made Garlic Goat Cheese Ravioli, and of course, fresh bread.
We have wonderful staff so far, with Nancy in the kitchen helping Jim and experienced servers. We only broke 2 glasses so far. Jim and I have been down a long and sometimes challenging road, but here we are in this beautiful space, sharing our dream of bringing international flavors to Bradenton.
We still need to get more art up on the walls, but the porch (the beach room) is full of fishy art from local artists. My jewelry and mosaics are on display too.
Saturday night Cat Miller sang and played piano for the crowd. All had a fabulous time. We're all about music. Jim (who's also a bass player), a guest who's a fabulous guitarist, and I (I'm a singer, pianist and guitarist) jammed Saturday night. We always leave instruments out for guests to get up and play. You never know what's going to come from that corner of the room.
Come by to see the results of all the work you've seen over the past 4 months. We'd love to meet you! Our address is 1114 12th St. West, Bradenton.
