Although the morning started out with overcast skies, the weather held up for the downtown Bradenton Farmer's Market this weekend.

Every Saturday, hundreds come out to the Farmer's Market to purchase fresh, locally grown produce and plants, jewelry, arts and crafts, and other wares while enjoying live music and a variety of demonstrations and events.

This week the downtown Bradenton Farmer's Market got into the spirit of Halloween with the "Dogtoberfest" celebration at Lucky Dogs. For a $5 fee, dog owners could enter their dapper pups in a costume contest, with all proceeds put toward supporting Animal Network Inc., a non-profit pet adoption group. The Farmer's Market also featured a number of vendors selling pet-related items.
