Mary Proud is a single mom of three daughters.
Now with grown children and working as an organizing specialist for the Florida Education Association, the Bradenton resident said she can identify with President Barack Obama.
Proud made the drive to Tampa to see Obama live at Ybor City's Centennial Park. She was joined in the crowd by members of the Hillsborough Classroom Teachers Association. The groups have a collaborative relationship.
"Obama depicts that American Dream," she said. "I can't see anything better than having him as our president because he represents anything is possible."
Obama came to the Tampa Bay area today, Oct. 25, as part of his "America Forward!" tour. The tour included stops in Iowa and Colorado before arriving in Tampa.
What do you think about the President's policies? Let us know in the comments section.

You have got to be kidding me. He has put us into bankruptcy, he has given billions to criminal organizations and failing car companies, banks, he has professed American arrogance to foreign countries, he has socialist, communist, tax dodgers in his cabinet, he will not release his college papers, he his cutting the military budget by 1 billion dollars and stopping the Bush tax cuts in 2013, he lied and is still lying about lybia, he forced obamacare down our throats when they are exempt, should I go on? Just because this single mom is a teacher does not make her smart.

Proofisinthepudding,
Take a deep breath, seems fresh oxygen is required. You must be under the impression that major financial collapses spawn prosperity. Do you remember when that happened? It was at the end of eight years of George Bush's presidency. George Bush's legacy will be two wars not paid for, and a financial collapse that lost 19 trillion in home values and financials (Stocks & Such not good).
How bad was it? The 2nd worst financial collapse in the history of our country. Here get it straight from Paul Ryan. http://youtu.be/J3U8ZrThR3M
President is doing a great job.

My teacher friends have had nothing but pay cuts, benefit cuts and much more in the last four years....perhaps Proud has been out of the classroom too long!

Well said, Gary.
Dee, just how has he hurt you? The economic crisis is a direct result of two unnecessary wars started by Mr. Bush in order to send defense contracts to his buddies. He deregulated everything his corporate cronies asked of him and then when the system collapsed due to their greed, BUSH started the bailout of the banks and the car companies. Obama just steered the ship when he came into office and kept it from sinking. He was never the "savior," he just promised to stop giving all the corporations a free ride. Trickle down NEVER worked.

Proof is in the pudding, of what relevance are his college papers? There is far more relevance in the fact that Romney refuses to show the American People his tax records for the last five years. We don't get to see how he hid his money in OFFSHORE tax shelters to avoid paying taxes in AMERICA. He is a greedy SOB who doesn't give a damn about the American people. Out of his own mouth..."I don't represent the 47% that get government benefits." Do you get Social Security? Give it back. His entire agenda is to dismantle everything that made us great. All in the name of his huge ego and the belief that there should be no regulations on business. Business does not have a heart. They do not care if there employees cannot put a roof over their heads, or feed their families. Corporations care about the bottom line and how they can make their stock holders richer, no matter who gets hurt.

Trisha, Sorry to inform you, Obama and the Feds have nothing to do with your pay and benefit cuts. You can thank your friend Rick Scott and the Florida Republican House and Senate for that little deed. Their agenda is to privatize schools, prisons, and everything else they can. So ask the private school teachers what they make???
I am done with me rant but I truly can't believe the blinders some of you in the middle classwear in the mistaken belief that the republicans care about you. I promise you, you are nothing but future worker drones for them and their friends. Honestly, I don't think highly of the Democrats either, but they are nowhere near as reprehensible, deceptive, or devious as the flip flopper you are backing.
