Sarasota, Manatee Football All-Stars Square Off
20th Annual Brad Price Memorial Police Athletic League Bowl pits the best from Sarasota and Manatee counties on the gridiron.
The best of Sarasota and Manatee counties' football teams will be on display one last time this season.
The 20th annual Brad Price Memorial Police Athletic League Bowl on Friday features the top varsity players in public and private schools from both counties in an all-star game match.
The game will be played at 7:30 p.m. at Booker High School in Sarasota. Tickets cost $5 and benefit Police Athletic League programs in both counties.
The game should be interesting as the Manatee High School football team claimed the Class 7A State Championship last month.
The Sarasota County All-Stars, led by Coach Josh Smithers of Cardinal Mooney High School, include players from Booker, Sarasota, Riverview, Venice, North Port, Cardinal Mooney and the Out-of-Door Academy. Manatee County All-Stars, led by Palmetto High School Coach Dave Marino, include players from Bayshore, Braden River, St. Stephens, Bradenton Christian, Palmetto, Lakewood Ranch, Southeast, and Manatee.
