'We Are the Storm,' RNC Protesters Chant
Protesters, armed with signs and a message, marched through downtown St. Petersburg as Isaac threatened to put a damper on the Republican National Convention.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Hundreds of protesters called for higher minimum wage and an end to corporate tax breaks during the "99% march" to Tropicana Field, the site of the kickoff party Sunday night for the Republican National Convention.
Participants marched from Mirror Lake to Tropicana Field carrying signs that stated, "Corporate Greed has a Face in Florida," "Greedy Old Party," and "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."
The march had the tone of a 1960s peace rally but the message reflected the economic concerns of 2012.
Watch our video to hear from St. Petersburg residents and visitors from across the country.

It takes courage to stand against tyranny, (oppressive power <every form of tyranny over the mind of man — Thomas Jefferson>; especially : oppressive power exerted by government <the tyranny of a police state>) these people will be remembered as the patriots of our time :)

These people are losers. While they are marching arounc protesting, the rest of us are at work PAYING TAXES to support them.
Get a job and help the rest of us support this debt that Obama created!

Jenny,
You aree right. In addition to what you said, a large amount of them are simply the local homeless people who are lured in to appear as supporters when all they are there for is the money they are being paid. It literally would not surprise me if a lot of them that do vote, will even vote Republican.

The people in my mind that will be remembered as patriots are people such as our military, law enforcement , etc people. The true protestors are OK. and they serve a good cause and need, but they should rid thier ranks of the tag-a-longs who discredit them. It simply makes many protestors simply appear as anarchist-like, rather than citizens simply expressing thier casue by our protected right to do so. Protestors are an extension of our checks and balance system in our country that allows citizens to call leadrship out for things some citizens think they are doing wrong and things we wish they would do. Protestors are nothing new. Nowdays, labeling them ''all'' as patriots is going a bit far, though.

BTW Speaking of Thomas Jefferson, he once said "never trouble another for what you can do for yourself".
Obama supporters need to get ouf of the tax payers pockets and support yourself!

Don't think for one minute that all these protestors are simply Obama supporters. At least half of them are simply hired and paid to do these marches, and possibly get some free food. Many of them are living in tents on vacant lots the city paid for in order to provide them with a peaceful way to ''participate''. Notice I did not say ''protest''. How can you be labeled as a protestors if you are only there for the handouts. Obviously, this is a very appealing lure for the homeless to squat on a few days or weeks. Some of these vacant lots furnished by the city also have Porta Potties, medical help, water, food...the list is dauntingly long of the freebies. Another point to consider, is many of these protestors that are ''real ones'', could very possbily be ''alternative'' candidate supporters, and don't support Obama ''or'' Romney. Not to mention the ones who are part of the ''Occupy'' group...which, again, are mainly just homeless people also leaching upon the groups for a free place to pitch a tent and cop a free meal.

Seems Jenny believes everyone that is not on board with corporate personhood, greed, and decent wages for working people, or exercises their consitutional rights, is being supported by her personal tax dollars. LMAO at your shallow and arrogant position.
Freedom ain't free Jenny, and you should be grateful that there are those that will stand up, even for you....
Good news is that there is a cure for the crainialrectalinversion from which you clearly suffer, just pull your head out :)
Your personal tax dollars do not go to me but many thanks on behalf of those few that you begrudgingly help:)

Why the Mystery, Monique? I assure you, I am not going to watch the ''2016, Obama's America'' you mentioned. Why not tell us a bit about it and make you point more clearly? We are all ears. Don't be shy...lay it on us.

I'm voting for Obama and all democratic canidates because:
#1 I was given very poor alternatives, no choices really.
#2 I believe people who make over $250,000 a year can and should pay a higher percentage in taxes thant those that make less. And at least 10x more if their house or condo blocks the view of an ocean from the nearest street.
#3 That anyone (Romney) who puts his dog in a car top carrier for a day long trip, then complains that the dog threw up and crapped all over the car, that he had to wash it off, and then tells everyone the dog enjoys riding up there should be beaten to near death with a blunt instrument never elected to any position-ever. Vick should have been jailed for life too! Anyone who mistreats animals is unbalanced and is a criminal.
#4 That the rebublican party has gone way too far, with everything, is too extreme for America in the 21st century and needs to be stopped at all costs.
So if your voting for "Mitt theTwit" ha ha my vote is cancelling yours out :)
