This week's list: 5 best places to buy pizza in Bradenton ...
- Ferraro's Pizza, 817 Tamiami Trail, serves up some of the best hand-tossed pizzas in Bradenton. The Lo Grande family has over 50 years of Italian dining experience in Sicily and New Jersey and, since 2007, has been a downtown Bradenton favorite.
- Gio offers fantastic brick oven pizzas in an upscale martini bar atmosphere at its two Bradenton locations, 7240 55th Ave E. and 4805 Cortez Rd W.
- San Remo Pizza & Pasta, 1914 Tamiami Trail, is a local Italian staple since 1982, offering a choice between thin, hand-tossed New York style and thick, square Sicilian style pizza. Stop in and grab a pizza or one of their delicious subs, calzones, or strombolis.
- Siciliano's, 6103 14th St W., has been serving up authentic Italian hand-tossed pizzas at their family-friendly restaurant since 1995.
- Verona, 5257 33rd St E., has been dishing out pizza, subs, and pasta at its cozy East Bradenton location for over 15 years and maintains a reputation of being a local favorite.

Casa DiPizza on SR64 in the strip mall next to Office Depot is the bumping place to be. Good food, atmosphere, great owners and staff, there is also another one off University Avenue in the same strip mall as World of Beers. Big "Bills" fans!!!

Good call on Ferraro's - that's one of my favorite places to go for lunch. And I'm glad Mike mentioned Demetrios, although I usually don't get their pizza because I can never pass up the "Full House" meal every time I'm there.
But no one has mentioned one of the greatest pizza places in the county, and that's Joey D's Chicago Style Pizzeria near the corner of 14th Street West and Cortez Road. The local KING of pizza!!! Get the Monsters of the Midway pizza. It's like you died and woke up in Chicago!

It was actually really tough to write this list - I wish I could have done a top 10! Having grown up in Bradenton, I'm really partial to Demetrios as well, and had a tough time leaving it out.
Pizza is one of those dishes that everyone loves and everyone has an opinion about - and there's a really fantastic variety in Bradenton!
Although I think it's technically in Sarasota, Filippo's (University Pkwy and Lockwood Ridge) is another one of my local favorites.

I'm originally from New York City, and the best pizza I've had down here is in Sarasota, at Il Panificio. It's just like I remember -- paper-thin crust, slightly singed. Awesome.

I'm from Jersey, so I'm pretty picky about my pizza. I've seen a lot of places down here that claim to have "NY-style pizza." But I have heard good things about Il Panificio's pizza, and their calzones are the real deal.

Il Panificio is awesome! Crusty's is another one of my favorite pizza joints in Sarasota. Great thin crust and deep dish offerings... And Mon-Fri during happy pizza hour (3-7), they serve up endless slices of free pizza with the purchase of a drink. Can't beat that!

I'm just now reading "Top 5" of Town (new to patch) and I love these articles! Oma's should be on this list somewhere... Order the White Pizza with Bacon, Garlic, Ricotta. Then just to ruin it and make the Italian guy who made it angry order a side of red sauce just to spice it up.

Pizza is a subject of much contention! I completely agree with you on the wings. In fact, Casa Di Pizza made the Patch Picks list for the best wings in town.
