Hurricane Sandy's Remnants Breeze Through Southwest Florida
Brrr! Nighttime temperatures may fall into the 60s Saturday and 50s Sunday, as Hurricane Sandy marches up Florida's east coast.
Hurricane Sandy will take the edge off the unseasonably warm temperatures across Tampa Bay, as much of Florida's East Coast is under a tropical storm warning.
Temperatures across the Tampa Bay area will be in the 60s Saturday night, with daytime highs in the 70s and low 80s Saturdy and Sunday.
It may feel downright cold Sunday night, with forecasters predicting temperatures in the 50s at night.
By Monday, even cooler temperatures are possible in some inland Bay area communities.
While National Weather Service meteorologist Ernie Jillson said it’s not likely we’ll break any records for cold weather, he does anticipate a nip in the air.
“Monday night, we’re looking at low to middle 50s for Tampa and some of the areas along the Bay,” he said. “Mid to upper 40s over the interior (are possible).”
Jillson expects gusts between 20 to 30 mph will be felt in some areas.
Rain chances are only slight this weekend.
