Bradenton Gladiators Remain Undefeated

The Gladiators took their fifth straight win after defeating the Sarasota Millionaires 27-16.

The Bradenton Gladiators won a tough fought defensive battle against the Sarasota Millionaires (3-2) to continue the team's undefeated streak in the first part of the semi-professional football season.

The Gladiators Offensive team was not making the necessary connections between their players for Saturday's game, which was was marked by interceptions, fumbles and blocks.

The defensive teams showcased their strength from the beginning, leaving the first quarter scoreless.  The first touchdown came 4 minutes into the second quarter when Gladiators linebacker Darian Platt scored. The Millionaires immediately answered when Ben Johnson made the team's first touchdown, followed by a two point conversion.

The half ended with Gladiator Gerald Perry's touchdown making the score 14-8. 

The second half of the game saw thrww more touchdos. Gladiators Chauncey Jones and Craig Carnes both scored in the second half before Millionaires Ben Seymour scoredthe game's final touchdown.

The Gladiators have a buy week so their next game is March 3 at the Miami Magic City Bulls. The next home game is March 10 against the Bears at 7 p.m. on the PAL field. 

An injury update: Chris Peterson who sustained an ankle injury in last week's game against the Reign, will undergo surgery in the coming week to have a  plate put on his ankle.
