Adoptable Cat of the Week: Cleo Needs a Loving Home
She's just one of the pets up for adoption at the county's downtown center.
This week's adoptable pet is Cleo, a quiet cat who loves to sit back and assess the situation.
Cleo, is a 11-month-old gray spayed domestic short-haired mix. She has been with Manatee County Animal Services since December 22 when she was found on Longboat Key.
Visit Cleo at the county's downtown adoption center or at the Palmetto adoption center for Animal Services this week. The downtown center is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Palmetto center is open on Saturdays.
January is a great month to adopt: For the next two days you can name your price for Cleo or any other pet. Manatee County Animal Services is offering a name-your-own-price adoption special in January. Come take a look at Cleo and make an offer. Cats, normally priced at $60 will be available at a price comfortable to you. Adopting families must pay the $10 fee for the county certificate and tag in addition to the name your price adoption fee. All adoptions include spay/neuter, vaccinations, health check, current rabies certificate/tag and a microchip. This adoption special is another step in the County’s plan to become a no-kill community.
For more information, visit www.mymanatee.org/pets or call 941-742-5824. The animal services webpage features updated photos and descriptions of the pets available for adoption. Pet owners can also use the site to locate missing pets.

That's a funny picture (#2) of Cleo looking into the camera. She looks like a real sweetie! I tweeted.
