13-Year-Old Shot Outside of His Home
Two Bradenton shootings reported overnight; sheriff's office believes they're unrelated.
A 13-year-old boy was shot outside his home Monday at almost 11 p.m. while sitting on his family car, the Manatee County Sheriff's Department reports. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The boy was talking to his girlfriend when two unknown Hispanic males approached him on the 800 block of 57th Avenue East. According to the report, the two suspects did not speak to the victim before they began shooting. The boy was transported to the hospital. During interviews, no one provided information related to who the subjects were or why the shooting happened.
At about 3 a.m. Tuesday, the sheriff's office responded to shots fired on the 1900 block of 36th Avenue East. Detectives were also notified that a 35-year-old man arrived at Manatee Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds.
According to interviews, three unknown young Hispanic men confronted the man in the road on 36th Avenue East, and shot him. The victim's condition is not known, according the sheriff's office.
